Thinking Wrench LLC — Policies & Guidelines
At Thinking Wrench, our goal is to build confidence through hands-on STEM. To keep classes safe, positive, and productive, please review the policies below. By enrolling in any class, workshop, or program, you confirm you have read and agree to these guidelines.
Thinking Wrench LLC may update these policies as needed to maintain quality and safety. Questions: info@thinkingwrench.com.
Enrollment
Provide accurate contact, emergency, and relevant health or behavioral information during registration.
Review our policies on make-ups, refunds, transfers, and cancellations before enrolling.
A student’s spot is confirmed only after payment is received or ESA approval is verified in ClassWallet.
Seats may be limited; classes are filled first come, first served based on payment or ESA authorization timestamp.
Code of Conduct
We expect respect and kindness toward:
Instructors and fellow participants
Tools, materials, and equipment
The classroom and venue
Notes:
Intentional damage to tools or property may result in financial responsibility and dismissal.
Instructors use encouragement and redirection. If a student repeatedly ignores safety or behavior expectations, is defiant, or jeopardizes the safety of themselves or others, guardians will be contacted for immediate pickup. Future enrollment is at Thinking Wrench’s discretion.
No refunds will be issued for students dismissed for behavior or safety violations.
Participation, Risks, and Liability
Hands-on STEM involves real tools and materials. Classes may include small parts, sharp tools, heat or low-voltage electrical components, household liquids, water or pressure demos, and general classroom hazards.
Supervision Requirement
Under age 8 (grades K–2): a parent or guardian must remain present for the full session.
Ages 8 and older (grades 3–8): drop-off is permitted. Instructors provide classroom oversight, but this does not replace the parent or guardian’s responsibility for the child’s safe participation.
Liability Release
By enrolling, you acknowledge these inherent risks and agree to hold Thinking Wrench LLC, its instructors, and affiliates harmless for accidental injury, property damage, or loss arising from normal participation, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Health & Safety
If minor first aid is required (bandage, ice pack), staff will assist and notify guardians at pickup.
In emergencies or sudden illness, guardians will be contacted immediately. If unreachable, we may seek emergency care. Guardians are responsible for associated costs.
Students must stay home if sick (fever, vomiting, or other contagious symptoms). Participants who become ill may be sent home at the instructor’s discretion.
For safety, students must follow tool instructions, wear closed-toe shoes, and secure long hair and loose clothing.
Refunds & Class Transfers
Once registration is complete, your child’s seat and project materials are reserved. All sales are final and non-refundable, except as allowed below.
Refunds will not be issued for reasons including but not limited to:
Failure to attend
Withdrawal from ESA
Refusal to participate after arrival
Illness, emergency, inclement weather, or transportation issues
Dismissal for code-of-conduct or safety violations
Moving or relocation
Scheduling conflicts or personal changes
Discounted Refunds
If approved, discounted refunds will be processed to the original payment method within seven (7) business days after the discount is awarded.
Exceptions & Transfers
You may transfer a reserved spot to another student who meets the age and safety requirements. Email info@thinkingwrench.com in advance to confirm the change.
If you notify us early and we fill your spot from the waitlist, you will receive a 50 percent class credit, valid for three months from the issue date. Credits cannot be extended or transferred.
If class materials were included, they will be available for pickup. Please collect within one week of the scheduled class.
Class Cancellations
If a class does not meet minimum enrollment, you will be notified at least 48 hours in advance and offered a full refund or class credit.
If Thinking Wrench must cancel a class, a refund or class credit will be provided.
Payments
Credit/Debit: Pay securely through our online checkout during registration.
ESA / ClassWallet: We accept ESA. Your spot is secured when ClassWallet confirms submission and authorization. Families are responsible for any denied or delayed reimbursements. If a refund is needed, it will be coordinated through ClassWallet timelines.
Clothing
Wear clothes suitable for hands-on work. Closed-toe shoes are required. Some projects may involve heat, adhesives, or liquids; minor stains are possible.
Personal Property
Students are encouraged to bring a labeled water bottle for longer sessions. Thinking Wrench is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items. Found items are held for one month before donation.
Projects and Materials
Completed projects may be taken home at the end of class. If a student is absent, included kits or materials will be held for one week for pickup.
Photo and Video
By enrolling, you grant permission for Thinking Wrench to use photographs or video of your child for educational or promotional purposes, without publishing the child’s name unless you give additional consent. Parents may request removal of specific photos or videos at any time by emailing info@thinkingwrench.com. Opt-out requests must be made before the first class.
